First Module

During the first module, I learned about AI and explored a brief history, which was fascinating. I had thought AI was a relatively new invention, created only a few years ago, but I was surprised to learn that AI began to take shape as early as 1950. Although progress in artificial intelligence was slow at first, today it seems that advancements happen almost daily, rapidly changing and evolving.

I then earned my first and second certifications: Generative AI and Empower Educators to Explore the Potential of Artificial Intelligence. Both were incredibly helpful. I hadn’t realized AI could support educators in so many ways. I also learned about concepts such as large language models (LLMs) like Gemini and ChatGPT, which can generate text, create questions, and perform many other remarkable tasks.

Next, I completed my third, fourth, fifth, and sixth certifications: Introduction to Generative AI, Introduction to Large Language Models, Introduction to Responsible AI, and Responsible AI Principles. These courses deepened my understanding of generative AI and taught me how to use it in a responsible and ethical way. I also learned the importance of double-checking AI-generated content to verify its accuracy.

One of my favorite parts of this module was learning how to craft effective prompts and understanding AI hallucinations. Prompting was a bit challenging at first, but it was fascinating to study. I struggled initially to create well-structured prompts—since they are key to getting high-quality AI responses—but with practice, I improved. Learning about hallucinations was also valuable, especially for educators, as we must be able to recognize them to ensure the content we generate with AI is reliable.

Later, I earned my seventh, eighth, and ninth certifications in design. Afterward, my team and I developed a project, applying what we had learned in both the course lessons and certifications. Our project focused on building a chatbot. First, we identified a user in need of support and created an empathy map to better understand their needs, challenges, and strengths. From there, we began designing our chatbot while incorporating everything we had learned. This was particularly engaging because, at every stage of development, we considered whether our project would truly help our user and whether they would find it intuitive and easy to use. Finally, when we finnished it, we were so proud of ourselves because our user was satisfied with the chatBot.

This module was especvially important to me because i did not know how to use AIs and because I doubted a lot of using AI in the past. But now I know that I was wrong and that AI is a tool that anyone can use.
